Facility Owner Members: Action Required – Transition to the New IP Response REST API

Pennsylvania 811 has released its new IP Response REST API, providing enhanced functionality and greater flexibility for responding to locate requests.

Important: The current SOAP-based Web Service will be permanently retired on July 31, 2026. All facility owner members using the SOAP service must complete their transition to the REST API before this date to avoid service disruptions.

Organizations that do not transition by the deadline will be limited to submitting responses through the KARL automated system or the Online Ticket Management web interface.

New REST API Features

  • Attach documents to ticket responses
  • Check the latest response associated with a ticket
  • Respond to multiple tickets in a single request

A pilot/staging environment is available for testing. Please contact Pennsylvania 811 to obtain test tickets and credentials.

Starting your transition early will help ensure a smooth conversion before the July 31, 2026 deadline.
